New emerging US potato markets

The United States Potato Board is always considering new markets for U.S. potatoes — two such emerging markets are Cambodia and Myanmar (formerly Burma). Before proceeding with exporting any product there is a lot of research and consideration that goes into determining the potential for U.S. potato exports in these emerging markets. Last fall following an earlier USDA-sponsored trade show USPB International Marketing Manager for the Frozen Potato Program Susan Weller spent time in both potential markets on the ground speaking to potential importers, quick serve restaurants.
