Western Australia’s economic regulator thinks the state’s potatoes are over-priced, of poor quality and consumers are denied choice of varieties. The potato industry in WA is highly regulated. The Economic Regulation Authority (ERA) report into microeconomic reform in WA recommends the potato marketing board be abolished, much to the disappointment of some potato growers.
