Researchers look at potential of potato virus X as drug carrier in cancer chemotherapy

Related imageA recent research study investigated the potential of potato virus X (PVX) as a drug carrier, delivering doxorubicin (DOX) – a commonly used cancer chemotherapy. According to their findings, published in the journal Nanoscale, PVX-DOX treatment resulted in reduced tumor growth. The research team concluded that their results open the door for further development of PVX and other high aspect ratio plant viral nanoparticles (VNPs) for applications in cancer therapy. Abstract
