During the Potato Europe 2017 event on 13 and 14 September in Emmeloord, the Netherlands, GRIMME will present a large number of new potato machines developed by the company. For the first time, Grimme will introduce the VARITRON 470 Platinum, a new generation of 4-row self-propelled harvesters powered by a 435 HP engine and equipped with a non-stop 7-ton Bunker hopper. One of the strengths of this machine is the improvement in driving comfort. The new ErgoDrive control concept is said to make direct and quick access to all functions easier. The SV 260 tractor-pulled potato harvester will be used on the demonstration field at the Potato Europe site, with the high performance Vario RS and MultiSep separators as well as a 5.5 ton NonstopBunker hopper in operation.
With the GT 300, 3 rows instead of 2 are harvested, which increases the pulling efficiency of the machine by 50%, Grimme says. Compared to a two-row harvester, this machine obviously decrease field passes which not only save time and fuel, but makes for less soil compaction of the field.
The new CleanLoader certified field loading machine, which separates the majority of waste in the field, will be presented for the first time at Potato Europe. The CleanLoader is equipped with a Hatz 4-cylinder diesel engine. The CleanLoader is said to be easy to operate, and includes a remote control for comfortable, fast and safe filling.
