US potato processor bought by German company Frostkrone Group

Quickly expanding German company Frostkrone Group recently announced the acquisition of Idaho potato processor Rite Stuff Foods Inc.

“We have had good business relationships with the U.S. for several years now. The logical consequence of the developments and discussions with trading partners was the direct consequence of having a company location,” said Frédéric Dervieux, Managing Partner of the Frostkrone Group.

Rite Stuff Foods was founded in 1989 by Thomas J. Madden and currently has more than 230 employees. The Jerome, Idaho-based company uses only Idaho potatoes to make baked and stuffed potatoes, stuffed potato boats, potato wedges in various flavors, potato pancakes, rolls and hearts.

The purchase of Rite Stuff Foods is the third major acquisition in the past year for Frostkrone Group. Last year, the company acquired the French companies Piz’wich and Varenne Gastronomie.
