Novelty ‘hotel’: Book a night in a spud sleeper…

How do you like them potatoes? Or, more precisely, the big Idaho potato that’s morphing into an Airbnb? Anyway you slice it or dice it, this is a “hot potato”; it’s got to be a s’mash hit…

From the official Airbnb listing: “Stay in a 6-ton potato! This is the original potato that traveled countless miles across the country for the Idaho Potato Commission on the back of a semi truck!

This is a one-bedroom, one-bath unit with a queen bed, for up to two guests. Amenities include: air conditioning, indoor fireplace (!) and free parking. Not included: hair dryer, TV, washer, kitchen. Oh, and for safety’s sake, there is a fire extinguisher. Rate is $200 a night.

The potato that traveled on a semi across the country for the Idaho Potato Commission is now an Airbnb.

There’s a grand opening for this tater hotel slated for 9 a.m. Monday at 31581 S. Orchard Access Road in Boise, Idaho.
