Nematicide Stewardship Programme in the UK aims to set single industry standard for granular nematicide application

All nematicides require careful handling. Members of the Nematicide Stewardship Programme (NSP) in the UK say the aim of the NSP is to ensure a best practice approach across all aspects of their use, from delivery on farm through to operator handling, machinery set up and maintenance, to application and storage.

As a cross industry group, bringing together CertisDu Pont and Syngenta, NSP welcomes support from the AICFPSANFU, PPA, AHDB Potatoes and Richard Austin Agriculture, as well as many independent food groups.

“We have developed a newlyapproved Red Tractor best practice protocol, plus a series of workshops through ARTIS that will be held across the country, to encourage an increase in stewardship knowledge and to ensure products are applied accurately and safely,” the NSP says on its website.

Alongside ARTIS, NSP recently launched the first module of an online e-learning tool – click here for more details and to sign up.
