Angus-based seed potato business Agrico UK Ltd. has been named as a top organisation for people management practice in the UK, winning the Best School and Business Partnership in the first Investors in People Awards. The company was recognised for its ‘Tattie Tastic Project’ as part of the Scottish Food and Drink Federation’s innovative schools programme. Now in its third year, it has involved classes of primary six and seven children from Glamis and Eassie primary schools joining the business for a series of interactive lessons.
The Competition Commission has cleared Mahindra and Mahindra ‘s proposed 40 percent stake sale in its seed potato business to Dutch group HZPC Holland, saying the deal does not raise concerns of unfair trade practices. Under the proposed deal, HZPC subsidiary Participatie Maatschappij Buitenland will acquire 40 per cent shares of Mahindra Investments (International) Private Ltd — part of Mahindra and Mahindra (M&M).
